Due to be released in April, 2011, Phenol-Explorer 2 will provide comprehensive intervention study details, including graphical visualizations of parameters such as urinary excretion and blood plasma levels.

September 1, 2009 — In Siliflo in partnership with INRA, France, releases Phenol-Explorer

Pe1 Phenol-Explorer is the first comprehensive and freely available electronic database on polyphenol content in foods. It contains more than 35,000 content values for 500 different polyphenols in over 400 foods. These data derive from the systematic collection of more than 60,000 original content values in more than 1,300 scientific publications. Data have been critically evaluated before inclusion in the database.

Phenol-Explorer allows users to perform a wide range of queries on foods and polyphenols, as analysed by various analytical methods. Results are displayed in the form of tables exportable as Excel files. Various graphs can also be retrieved. Original publications are hyperlinked to polyphenol content values and can be easily displayed. Each polyphenol is also linked to major small molecule databases (KEGG, ChEBI, PubChem) to visualize its structure and other chemical information. Foods are linked to other food composition resources.
